Trauma Release Exercises ®

Megan’s hands gripped the steering wheel so tightly that her knuckles turned white. Her heart was racing, pounding in her chest as she replayed the close call over and over in her mind. The sound of screeching tires still rang in her ears. Her hands started to shake, making it hard to keep a grip on the wheel. The tremors were so bad she could barely hold on.

Have you ever had an experience like Megan’s? Whether it was a car accident or a confrontation, the body’s stress response works faster than we can think. When the body faces a stressful situation, the nervous system activates the "fight or flight" response to prepare for immediate action. This begins in the brain, where the hypothalamus signals the adrenal glands to release hormones like adrenaline and cortisol. Once the stressor is removed, the nervous system works to return the body to a state of balance, but what happens to all that energy?

Chronic pain can be caused by "stuck energy" in the body, where the unprocessed stress response creates blockages in the flow of energy through the nervous system. Stress, anxiety, or unresolved emotional experiences can create tension in the body or fascia, leading to muscle tightness or inflammation that restricts the flow of energy. Over time, these blockages can disrupt the body’s natural healing processes, causing persistent pain. The nervous system becomes hyperactive, constantly signaling discomfort, even when there is no immediate physical injury. And this is where Tension/Trauma Release Exercises or TRE® comes in. This process restores balance and releases the stuck energy, allowing the body to heal naturally.

Trauma Release Exercises (TRE®) are designed to help release deep-seated tension and trauma stored in the body, particularly in the areas of the brain and nervous system that control automatic responses to stress. The gentle muscle tremors stimulate the brain stem, helping it "reset" and return to a more balanced state. By allowing the body to shake out the tension and energy stored from trauma, TRE® can help recalibrate the nervous system, reduce the overactive responses of the brain stem, and restore the body's ability to respond to stress in a more adaptive way. This process can lead to a decrease in chronic stress, anxiety, and trauma-related symptoms, supporting overall emotional and physical healing.

If you're feeling overwhelmed by stress, tension, or past trauma, Trauma Release Exercises (TRE®) can offer a powerful and natural way to help you reconnect with your body, find relief from chronic stress, and restore balance. TRE® allows you to release deep-rooted emotions and trauma, giving you the chance to feel lighter, more relaxed, and empowered to move forward. Take the first step toward healing—your body and brain deserve it.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

TINY, EMOTIONS 101 STUDENT

It helped me learn to get into touch with my emotions. I think it’s important that everyone learns to recognize how they are feeling and then understand how to address those feelings. Our lives get hectic and the class helped me realize I needed to slow down.

R.B., SWAHILI STUDENT

Even when we forgot or made mistakes, she never, not once, got irritated or made us feel bad for not remembering or knowing. She was professional and caring, realizing every student learns in a different way and at their own pace...she has a great way of breaking things down and made learning fun.

CLADY, TENSION RELEASE EXERCISES®

Everything in the class was useful and valuable. I had more energy, felt happy and thankful. Very optimistic. I would highly recommended TRE®. Why?! Because the benefits are well worth it. It is like clicking a reset button on yourself. I thought it was perfect.

DK, EMOTIONS EDUCATION

These courses changed my life. They helped me to be a better listener and to hold space for others' emotions instead of always coming up with a solution. I am better at my job because of these courses on emotions.
